Candice Palma Zahradka M.S, Ed

I’m Candice. First and foremost, I’m a mother of three boys and I’m a wife. I am a creative person- pianist, writer, song-writer. I enjoy being athletic, going to the beach and cooking.
I’ve spent over two decades in the field of education. I earned a BA in history and an M.S, Ed in Special Education.
Throughout my tenure I specialized in curriculum creation and development, teaching Economics and Government through stories and the human experience.
The Essential Classroom was born in my mind during my walks to and from Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Appian Way. I attended workshops at the GSE and then ultimately earned my Certificate in School Management and Leadership.
I did this with the intent to one day launch my own research and education platform that helps people understand the mechanisms that moved history, that move our society and our natural world in order to foster understanding and empower people to make strong choices in their lives.
The ultimate goal is to promote peace, prosperity, dignity and freedom for each individual.
I never enjoyed being in “the system”- and saw many problems that I will address here. I tried to make the greatest impact I could, but freedom of thought, critical thinking and creativity are not desirable characteristics of teachers- administrators. The system wants conformity- and compliance. A bureaucratic system that is not based on results was not a place I could stay in forever.
Ultimately I left the system- deprogrammed myself-if you will- and did what I really wanted to do, which was raise my children, cook and write- and teach people all around the world from the comfort of my home office, while focusing primarily on being with my family.
I believe in the power of truth, the individual, the family, tradition, creativity, self-expression ingenuity, and invention. I always seek to be less wrong, to learn, to grow…
In the Essential Classroom, I aim to examine the essential nature of things by seeking and finding.
I like to zoom out and look at the big picture- I then like to zoom in and examine individual things closely- constantly applying micro-analysis and observation to a grander macro perspective.
The Earth is our Essential Classroom- this life is for learning lessons, growing and passing the lessons on.
I believe that through a deep commitment to understanding the truth, the design- to seeking and finding, we can heal ourselves and one another.
And in doing so, honor our purpose and fulfill our Ultimate Duty to one another and that is TO LOVE.
